Did you know that oftentimes, the skin cancers we get as adults are results from the burns we got as kids?

We've Got Answers

Is There a Difference Between Sunscreen and Baby Sunscreen?

Yep, there’s definitely a difference. Baby sunscreen is specially made for extra sensitive skin, as it's made with mineral-based ingredients like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. These sit on top of the skin and act as a physical shield against the sun, instead of being absorbed. Baby formulas are also typically free of fragrances, dyes, and other stuff that could irritate your little one’s skin. So while both types protect against UV rays, baby sunscreen is all about keeping things safe, simple, and soothing for tiny beach bums.

How Do You Protect Your Baby Under 6 Months from the Sun?

For babies under 6 months, the best way to protect their skin is to keep them out of direct sunlight altogether. Their skin is super thin and sensitive, which means even a little sun can do damage. Dress your baby in lightweight, breathable clothes that cover their arms and legs, and pop on a wide-brimmed hat for extra shade. Use the stroller’s canopy or a sun umbrella when you'reout and about, and try to stick to shady spots, especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. when the sun’s strongest. No sunscreen needed, just good old-fashioned cover and shade.

What's the age range for baby products?

We recommend using our Baby Bum products on children from the ages of 6 months - 5 years old, but always recommend consulting your pediatrician. Babies under the age of 6 months should not be in direct sunlight. Check out our Kids sunscreen line for groms over 5.
